Find the Frog!

The goal of this piece was to apply art to any 3-D object. I ended up choosing an old, wooden Havana cigars box. The old, musty look of the box inspired me to incorporate tropical elements to the painting.

First, I laid out the dimensions of the box on a blank sheet of paper so I could draw out the designs that I wanted to paint.

The concept behind this piece is, quite literally, to find the frog. I wanted to incorporate a different part of the frog on each side of the box, behind a shrub of tropical leaves, to make it a more interactive experience for the viewer.

As a surprise, once they open the box, they find the actual frog inside it!
